Another interesting design feature are the beams hanging of the sides of the posts, rather than on top. This allows the structure to expand (or contract) at the different levels in the house. This project uses a rough sawn fir interior siding on the walls and T & G planed roof decking to compliment the heavy fir timber roof structure. No drywall is used in this home. Fir, barn style doors are painted different bold colors to offer contrast to the wooden interior. A shaped log stairwell was built without the use of a traditional stringer. Adjustable steel bars are hidden inside the go treads to create an individual design.
