In log construction it is the craftsman's skillful command of his tools that defines a truly exceptional product. At Dürfeld we don't cut corners with our logwork to increase production. We dress our joinery and logwork with traditional hand tools while adding details to accommodate the natural movement of the wood.

Here the customer wanted a different look so we developed a full scribe dovetail (above). This eliminated the need for chinking often associated with dovetail logwork.

The Norwegian notch we use is a culmination of years of product development. Not only is it aesthetically appealing but it is also the most technically correct notch we found in preventing air infiltration.
